On the blog today I wanted to share a real wedding with you. The wedding of Sam & Kay Follett. I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Kay to create their wedding place name tags and I was very excited to see the pictures from their beautiful wedding day. I hope it gives you some inspiration for your own wedding day.

The wedding was held on the 20th September 2014. Kay and Sam decided to get married at their local parish Church and then held their reception at Sam’s parents house in a marquee. (Extreme Sounds Productions).

The dress Kay wore was an Ellis Bridal gown – “I knew I wanted something very classic and elegant. Ellis bridal style 11368 was perfect as it had everything I wanted, a fitted fishtail gown with beaded lace, sheer long sleeves (perfect for an autumn wedding) and a keyhole back.”

They decided to have a September wedding, as autumn is their favourite season of the year and this fitted perfectly with their gorgeous vintage and rustic theme (my favourite theme of all!)

Along this rustic theme they chose peach for their bridesmaids to wear which were elegant maxi dresses from Coast and Ivory for the flower girls dresses which were from Monsoon. The groom and best man both wore Hugo Boss suits and the groomsmen hired theirs from Moss Bros.

This creative couple added a lot of DIY elements and personal touches to their wedding,  keeping it simple and rustic. They made the table decorations, seating plan, menus, favours and order of service using some Kraft brown paper, twine and heart cutters.

Most memorable moment:

“The most memorable moment for the day for me was firstly, driving in the car with my father telling me how proud and happy he was. The second was the moment Sam and I got to worship and say our vows together, then after having our photos just us two, this was where we got to be normal and spend time just us, we even asked our car driver to drive us around a little bit more so we could spend some more time together to take it all in. And lastly our first dance together was magical on our starlit dancefloor, this was where we forgot everyone around us and had a marvellous time laughing and singing together. Ooo and of course how can I forget the speeches!!!!”

Advice for other brides and grooms:

“Soak in every moment, look at all those people who have come and shared your big day and think about how much they all mean to you. Remember that this is the only time all your loved ones will ever be in the same room. Also take a moment to take in how much you love each other and how amazing you feel at that very moment.”
